During his “We Saw Your Boobs” song Seth MacFarlane listed off women who’s breasts he’d seen in their movies. As if this isn’t grotesque enough four of the instances he listed were scenes of rape or the character was raped during the movie.
Hilary Swank in Boys Don’t Cry.
Jodie Foster in The Accused.
Jessica Chastain in Lawless.
Charlize Theron in Monster.

Oh my fucking god this is why I hate you Seth Macfarlane

Those reaction shots were prerecorded, and acted. Also, Advocate article for you guys.

What American accent do you have?

North Central 91%

“North Central” is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw “Fargo” you probably didn’t think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

i am canadian tho

Your Result: The Midland
 95%

“You have a Midland accent” is just another way of saying “you don’t have an accent.” You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

welp, another way that I’m boring as fuck.

havent taken it but i know i am a midland and i love it

I’m Midland too which makes sense.

84% The Northeast

The fun part is that I have an Australian accent.

85% The Midland

I’m almost disappointed they didn’t ask about washcloths.

I got Northeast, too.

I have a British accent tho’ D:

The inverted cross actually is (Theistic, not sure about LaVeyan) Satanic, it represents the chakras.

Otherwise, this is a good guide.

It’s Christian as well.  It’s St Peter’s cross, he is said to have been crucified upside down.  It was adopted by Satanists independently of that, to symbolise a rebellion against the Christian faith and in that the two can be thought of as completely separate, but it’s a Christian symbol as well.

So, sooo fucking wrong on the iron cross tho’. Wrong enough to actually make me angry.

NRA

method-to-my-melody:

Listening to NPR this afternoon I actually agree with NRA. I had even made up my mind that this would be the best method of security and protection even before this school shooting occurred last Friday. Put armed policemen in schools. I don’t know why people find this idea absurd. It’s much better than the more radical idea of arming teachers which I know was actually considered at one point. Arming professional good guys is the only way to take down a bad guy. And increasing gun control and limiting weapon use/availability is going to do more harm then good. Tell me again how nobody does illegal drugs? Exactly. By making stricter gun laws is only going to fewer guns in the hands of the “good guys” as it will only make it harder for them to attain weapons to defend themselves. The “bad guys” will continue getting weapons illegally because the law does not “apply” to them. If people think having armed policemen in schools is going to be dangerous, then the consequences really must be weighed. Which one trumps the other? What chances are more likely? Having a a professionally trained policeman go rogue or some kid who just lost it? You know how often this happens when a kid brings a weapon to school? The events may not be as dramatic as what happened last Friday, but honestly, schools make great targets because they tend to be completely weapon free.

And what are people saying? “NRA is killing our children”? Now that is just ridiculous. There are good guys and bad guys. If both have guns, it doesn’t make both sides bad. Now you just have good guys with guns for self defense and protection against the bad guys with guns. Better than armed bad guys against defenseless good guys right?

Anyways I think NRA is making some really good points. Because people in general have a very negative image of guns, for obvious reasons, people forget that if put in the right hands, guns can be used for protection.

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” he said, asking Congress to immediately appropriate the money to put a police officer in every single school in the country.

this is the reason why I support homeschooling

Shouldn’t be the reason you support home schooling, should be the reason you support something called gun control.

Wayne LaPierre of the NRA says that the answer to school shootings is an armed police officer in every school in America, and Congress should ensure that this happens when kids come back from winter break in January.

Because cops are bulletproof, apparently, and are never shot. And a shooter with an AR-15 in his hand, finger on the trigger, will be stopped by a cop with a .9 millimeter in a holster who doesn’t know the asshole is coming.

And schools are the only place that’s vulnerable. Tell that to the Sikhs in Oak Creek, the moviegoers in Aurora, the shoppers in Clackamas, the staff and patients at the hospital facility here in Pittsburgh, Gabrielle Giffords and her constituents outside a grocery story. The women at the LA Fitness in Bridgeville, PA. The people at Tennessee Valley UU Church. The lunch eaters at the McDonalds in San Diego. The soldiers at Fort Hood.

Because cops never open fire on unarmed civilians who they “think” have guns. Because shootouts between cops and criminals never kill bystanders. (Who in LaPierre’s construction, would be children.) Because cops are inherently trustworthy and their presence in a school wouldn’t escalate the potential for school violence to turn deadly. (Where there’s a gun, a gun can be used.)

LaPierre also blamed violence not on guns, but on television, movies and video games, specifically naming “Mortal Kombat” in which none of the characters have a gun.

And LaPierre specifically scapegoated people with mental illnesses, calling for a national database of people with mental illnesses. No national database of guns or gun owners, but of those of us with mental illnesses. Never mind that people struggling with depression who can’t get out of bed don’t kill people. Just ignore the fact that two soldiers with PTSD commit suicide every day, on average, but so far, none have shot up a crowd of innocent people. Forget that people with schizophrenia, widely thought dangerous, are actually exponentially more likely to be victims of crime rather than perpetrators. And easily, casually, thoughtlessly set aside the fact that the vast, vast majority of gun crimes are not committed by a person with a mental illness.

Where there’s a gun, there’s a gun that can be used. Increasing the number of guns in vulnerable places (which would be, we’ve seen, as 2012 has shown us, is everywhere) only increases the likelihood of someone being shot there, and that’s not an improvement. Not by any means.

This is the NRA’s “substantial offering” to solve gun violence. This is the same old rhetoric they’ve been pushing for the entirety of their existence. It is anti-science, anti-statistic, anti-factual nonsense.

It’s time to be serious — which starts with no longer letting an organization that represents 1.3% of Americans dictate public policy on this issue.

nra,

I wonder if people railed this fiercely against the legislation that made getting a license to operate a motor vehicle necessary.

I wonder if people realise that motor vehicles are designed specifically for transport, and that guns are designed specifically to severely wound or kill living creatures.

I wonder.

So, I saw some right-wing blogger post this image with the title “Israel has it right! But America and other SOCIALIST countries won’t let teachers do the right thing and protect themselves!”
I was about to reblog it, because none of that seemed right to me, but I didn’t know for sure, so I decided to ask a friend who grew up in Israel. After laughing for a solid minute, he said:
1) Israel is a socialist country. America is not.
2) Teachers in Israel do not, in fact, carry automatic assault rifles around with them.
And then I couldn’t find the post, and I was sad, because I wanted to share it with all of you so we could laugh together, but it turns out that rumor is so pervasive that Israel Today had to address it. As they said:

There is a picture going around the Internet that I have seen about a dozen times today that claims that Israeli teachers are packing heat. Well, are they? The answer is “NO.” There may be some exceptions in dangerous areas like the West Bank (where five percent of Israelis live), but in general, Israeli teachers are not walking around like it’s the Wild Wild West, strapped with a six shooter. No, our teachers are not focused on shooting, but educating.

They go on to say the person is probably not a teacher at all, but a security guard. So. For your edification.

People who continue to call the US socialist really get to me. >_>
